The concept:
This tour is designed to give the perfect introduction to Bangkok, both from the perspective of the main sights but also getting a little bit offbeat. A good blend between the main temples and local life. We combine 2 temples, with a traditional market, several forms of local transport, and a lot of interesting snacks. Along the way we will pass many of the most famous sights.
The Plan:
The tour starts at a convenient meeting point at National Stadium BTS Station.
After meeting your guide, we will walk to get a local canal ferry boat on the San Saeb canal to get to the historic area of Rattanakosin. Once you arrive you will meet our friendly tuk tuks who will drive you around for the next few hours. The first main stop is Nang Leong Market, where you will pick up a range of snacks. Next we drive around Rattanakosin, passing many of Bangkok's most famous sites. The tuk tuk will cross to the other side of the river and take you to Wat Arun (The Temple of Dawn), where your guide will show you around. Next we move back to boats as we take the local ferry back across the river for our final stop at Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha)
At the end of the tour the guide will help you get to where you need to get to, or if you have booked an afternoon add-on will ensure you join that,

This tour uses multiples forms of transport and a little bit of walking: You need to get on and off boats and in and out of tuk tuks so not ideal for people in wheelchairs or restricted mobility
Getting to the meeting point: Please allow plenty of time to get to the meeting point as we can not wait. The meeting point is located at National Stadium BTS (Skytrain) station and we advise you to get the train there if possible. Traffic can be bad in the morning.
Group Sizes: This tour is limited to a maximum group size of 12 people when run as a join-in tour. For private tours we can do bigger groups. However, we keep the groups small to ensure a better experience in the markets! For 6 people or more we suggest a private tour.
Food and dietary requirements: We stop for snacks as we go. We do not serve full dishes but a range of diverse snacks (both sweet and savory). We can adapt for vegetarians. Please advise us if you have specific dietary requirements.
What to wear: Bangkok can get very hot so please do dress comfortably but respectfully as we do visit temples. You should cover shoulders and knees.
If it rains we have more fun: Rainy season can be from May to November. When it does rain it usually only lasts a short time. Our guides will provide ponchos and we will adapt the tour where needed. We do not offer refunds if it rains.
Suitability for children: We do allow children but do expect parents to make the judgement as to whether it is suitable for children. We do often find that for families with young children, a private tour is better as we can adapt to your needs.
Private & Custom Tours: If you have specific requirements or a group of 6 or more we suggest you contact us about a private tour. Private tours include pick-up and drop-off (although often we may use public transport to avoid traffic), and the route may be adapted to your needs.
Advanced booking and payment is required: We cannot guarantee availability until payment has been received. Book now to secure your experience.
