EXAMPLE PAST EVENT: Talking food: Thai street food vs high-end Thai

Everyone has an opinion on what great Thai food is.

Why spend 3,000 baht when you can eat something on the streets for 30 baht? What do higher-end modern Thai restaurants offer that street food sellers don’t? What is real ‘Thai’ food?

Come and join us for an informal night of discussion, debate, passion and personal opinions on the cuisine that is world-famous. Our speakers will share their views on what is Thai food and how quality and taste may vary as the price point rises.

Speakers include:

  • Khun Bo from highly acclaimed bo.lan restaurant (
  • Jake Carvey, food enthusiast, expat and keen street food explorer
  • Chawadee Nualkhair, author of “Thailand’s Best Street Food” and food blogger (

Of course an evening talking about food wouldn’t be complete without some food to sample. A variety of appetisers, welcome drink and soft drinks will be provided.

So come and help us stir the Thai foodie pot!
